About This Programme

This programme helps qualified French-speaking barbers work in Canada through the Francophone Mobility pathway, which allows eligible employers to hire without an LMIA.

Applicants must be prepared to live and work outside Quebec and show intermediate French speaking and listening ability.

Minimum eligibility requirements

To be considered, applicants should meet all of the following:

High school or secondary school certificate
Minimum 2 years of barbering experience
Strong skills in fades, beard work, and clean finishes
Professional barbershop experience preferred
Conversational English required
Intermediate French speaking and listening (NCLC Level 5+)
Valid passport or ability to obtain one
Willing to relocate and work outside Quebec
Professional, reliable, and customer-service focused

Language requirements

French is required

Intermediate French speaking and listening ability is required for the Francophone Mobility pathway. Reading and writing are less critical than spoken communication.

Accepted proof may include:

  • TEF Canada results
  • TCF Canada results
  • French education records
  • Other approved proof of French speaking and listening ability

English is a strong advantage

Good English communication helps with clients, shop teamwork, and workplace instructions.
